eNGAS and eBudget System On the Way!
As part of the thrusts and functions of the Commission on Audit to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of government operations, COA organized and conducted a capacity building seminar on Enhanced Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS) and Electronic Budget System for LGUs. Said activity was held at Professional Development Center, Commission on Audit, Commonwealth Ave., Quezon City last April 23-27, 2018.
The 5-day seminar-workshop aims to capacitate the attendees from seven Local Government Units, specifically City of Bayawan, Quezon City, City of Victorias, Municipality of Gloria, Municipality of Midsayap, Province of Camarines Sur, and Province of Zamboanga del Norte, in the operation, troubleshooting and administration of the systems.
eNGAS and eBudget System are integrated systems that will simplify and expedite relevant processes, provide a timely and convenient reporting, thus, improving the integrity and reliability of reports. The entire duration of the training was facilitated by technically abled and very accommodating officers and personnel of the Commission on Audit’s Accounting Systems Development and Other Services Office (COA-ASDOSO) who ensured that participants are equipped and knowledgeable about the systems’ nitty-gritty that will later on carry-out the roll-out and implementation in their respective Offices.
The Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, committed to ensure transparency and accountability, fully supported the said activity by sending a total of 10 personnel coming from the Provincial Accountant’s Office, Provincial Budget Office, Provincial Internal Audit Office and Information, Communication, Archiving and Records Management Office.
As of now, the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur is assessing the readiness of the related offices in the computerization since the management believes and strongly considers the automation of the key processes particularly the budget and accounting which will greatly aid the Provincial Government in providing a more transparent reporting, and effective and efficient service to the people of Camarines Sur.
