PIAO Actively Supported Record-Breaking Zumba Class of Cam Sur
Last May 19, 2018, the Provincial Internal Audit Office (PIAO) stepped-up and actively participated as Team Leaders in the Grand Zumba Kontra Droga activity, where Cam Sur broke the Guinness world record for the largest Zumba class, with a total official number of 13,400 gate attendees.
Apart from aiming to get the Guinness world record, the said activity also announced to the whole world Cam Sur’s strong advocacy in its battle against illegal drugs. It concretely displayed that, together, constituents of Cam Sur can make a strong stand to combat illegal drugs by engaging instead in healthy physical activities such as Zumba.
Alongside Governor Migz Villafuerte, Congressman Lray Villafuerte, and Officials of Cam Sur, the event was also joined by certain public figures namely Yassi Pressman, Sunshine Cruz, Imelda Papin, and Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
To recognize their efforts in the Zumba activity, the following delegations were presented these special awards: LGU Bato received Php 100,000 for having the largest number of participants advocating drug-free CamSur; Pili delegation received Php 100,000 for being the best in Advocacy Attire during the Grand Zumba Kontra Droga; LGU Balatan was awarded Php 100,000 for being the first to organize in the Zumba ground, ready to fight against illegal drugs; and University of St. Anthony and the Philippine Army received Php 100,000 for being the most disciplined, active, energetic, and for their creative showmanship.
In line with the Province’s advocacy, PIAO is committed to support and promote a drug-free society, as evidenced by the efforts displayed in the activity.
