PICPA for a cause: PIAO CPAs attended

Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) from the Provincial Internal Audit Office together with the CPAs from different sectors have actively participated in the 2-day activity spearheaded by the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) – Region V Camarines Sur Chapter entitled “Summer Spectacular: General Membership Assembly, Outreach Program, Rest & Recreation” last May 5-6, 2018 at Pasacao, the summer capital of Camarines Sur.

As part of the social responsibility of the organization, the activity commenced with the Financial Literacy Seminar Workshop for small business owners held at Pasacao Municipal Hall Covered Court at 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon. It was participated by thirty-eight (38) business owners where knowledge on accounting has been discussed which is very essential in monitoring a business’ financial position and performance with the use of accurate and reliable financial information. The seminar proper and workshop was led by competent speakers namely: Ms. Marissan F. Jarcia, Sectoral Director in Education and Mr. Dexter Mitra, Auditor of PICPA-CamSur, respectively.

The Outreach activity was facilitated by the PICPA – CamSur together with various CPA volunteers from different sectors and Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) representatives and in coordination with the LGU Pasacao headed by the Municipal Mayor, Honorable Niño A. Tayco.

To foster cordial, harmonious, and fruitful relations among its members, a General Assembly was held at Surfer’s Paradise Resort headed by Ms. Maria Lourder Blasa-Terbio, PICPA President, where she expressed her deepest gratitude acknowledging the presence of all participants in the said event. In the midst, she presented the accomplishments of PICPA-CamSur chapter, their attendance to different sponsored events/seminar trainings and their upcoming activities as well.

The PICPA president ended her talk with the famous English quotation that: “When the going gets rough, the tough gets going.” Which means that when the situation becomes difficult, the strong will work harder to meet the challenge, as she finds it alike to what PICPA-CamSur is doing.
